Redwings Horse Sanctuary is excited to welcome Sarah Parsons as our new Executive Director. With an extensive background in leadership and fundraising management, Sarah is a wonderful addition to the Redwings team!
As a young girl, Sarah grew up riding horses. Between lessons, trail riding, and a little fun in the arena, she knew horses were an important piece to her life. “My childhood dream was to become a successful horse trainer on the track.” Parsons states. Now, her dream is coming true, just in a different way. Sarah shared “I am so excited to join the Redwings team. I may not be a successful trainer like I thought I would be, but now I get to bring my love for horses and my knowledge of fundraising together.”
Originally from Western New York, Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from State University of New York, Fredonia and then decided to further her education by receiving her master’s degree in Sport Management from California State University, Long Beach. Sarah found her way to non-profits while working with the Los Angeles Kings Foundation. Her experience with the team inspired her to keep on the career path of working in the non-profit sector. After years of successful fundraising and leadership roles, Sarah jumped at the chance to pursue her passion.
“I now get to be an advocate to the animals that had such an impact in my own life. Redwings Horse Sanctuary has such a wonderful mission. What we do here needs to be shared with the community.” Sarah shared. As Executive Director, Sarah is looking forward to building greater community outreach and furthering fundraising opportunities for Redwings.
