Sonny was born on the 4th of July in 1997. He was later donated to the therapy program Partners in Equestrian Therapy. His quiet temperament made him an ideal mount for therapy work.
Sonny became a wonderful therapy horse and spent nearly 20 years teaching children and adults with disabilities how to ride. Through learning to ride, his clients found happiness, confidence, and increased independence.
After years of loyal service, Sonny reached an age when it was time for him to retire. Wanting the very best for him, Partners in Equestrian Therapy reached out to Redwings.
Although Sonny is retired from teaching people how to ride, he has found a new job at Redwings. He will be joining five other horses selected for the Redwings Equine Assisted Services program beginning in Spring 2026.
Sonny will continue to have an important role, making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of many people.
