Redwings was contacted in March about a pony that had been rescued, but the people who saved the pony were unable to meet the pony's needs and continue caring for it. The fires in the Santa Cruz area in 2020 initially displaced Snickers. The owners moved to the townhome and didn't have space for Snickers, so he lived in a small chain link dog run. He was saved from that situation, and the kind rescuers brought him home to their ranch. Unfortunately, his massive health issues, laminitis, and being completely blind were beyond their care capabilities. They reached out to Redwings to see if we could offer him a permanent home, and we quickly agreed. He is now getting all the medical care he needs, is well taken care of, and is happy.
