Gambini retired from racing (9; 0, 0, 1) in January 2021 as a result of a recurring lameness on the right front fetlock. We had him evaluated, and it revealed he has moderate arthritic changes in the joint, a hairline sesamoid fracture, limited range of motion, and flexed severely positive. He’s had six months of rest and is going sound. He still has a limited range of motion, but he is not sensitive or in pain. He has been in pasture and being lunged in the round pen and is holding up well. He should be a good light-riding horse as he has a lovely temperament and good manners.
