Lucy was seized by Kings County Animal Services from a terrible case of neglect. Lucy's owner had fallen on hard times and was no longer able to afford to care for Lucy. Lucy was thin, in need of hoof care and was very lame on her left front leg at the time that she was seized. Lucy had not been groomed in so long that her tail was just one huge knot. Kings County Animal Services immediately got a vet out to assess Lucy's lameness and determined that in addition to having advanced navicular disease she also had very severe thrush in her left front hoof. Lucy was treated for thrush and given an Osphos injection to help with her navicular disease. Once she arrived at Redwings our team got to work getting the huge knot out of Lucy's tail and multiple smaller knots out of her mane. She received a much needed hoof trim and is now looking and feeling much better. Lucy is a sweet mare that really enjoys attention. She is available as a companion only and is not suitable for riding due to her navicular disease.
