In March of 1999, Redwings agreed to accept eight burros that had been removed from land in Death Valley. The BLM was removing them from their wild homes for population control. One of the burros, Magic, had a one-month-old baby at her side who we named Lucky. Lucky now has a home at Redwings with his friends Brownie and Jenny, who came to the sanctuary from a separate BLM burro rescue.
