San Luis Obispo County Animal Services seized Firecracker in December 2018 and 34 other horses, all in poor condition. Redwings assisted the county in care recommendations and agreed to take the three horses in the worst state. Redwings decided to take three additional horses from the case a few months later. He is entirely feral, so he is a permanent resident. Unfortunately, we had to remove his eye shortly after we rescued him due to an untreatable abscess. He is still suspicious of people but enjoys his days in a large pasture with his buddy Galen.
