Baby's owner suffered a stroke and became unable to care for her or the other five horses that shared a home with her. The horses were being fed, but no veterinary, farrier or dental care was provided. The horses' conditions were also unsafe due to a large amount of debris in the pasture.
A concerned family member reached out to Redwings to see if we could help. The Redwings team made the 9-hour round trip drive north to pick up the horses and bring them back to the sanctuary. Baby has significant scarring on her right front leg due to a severe barbed wire injury when she was very young, and this injury has also left her with a permanent limp.
