Camille was seized in January of 2023 in Northern California from a hoarder/neglect case. The owner was breeding his horses, but all of them were in terrible condition and severely underweight. Camille was just a baby, only two years old, and emaciated. To make matters worse, Camille had reoccurring bouts of colic for multiple days, and the owner had not had a vet out to treat her.
Once she was seized, the officers quickly took Camille to a local veterinary clinic for medical treatment. She was diagnosed with severe sand impaction and was immediately hospitalized. Camille remained hospitalized for 14 days before she was finally healthy enough to discharge. Animal Services reached out to Redwings, and a few weeks later, Camille arrived at the sanctuary. Since her arrival, Camille has regained all her body condition and is happy and healthy.
