In the spring of 2026, Redwings received a call from Animal Services about a beautiful young stallion in need.

Giacomo was his owner’s pride and joy. He was her dream foal—the result of breeding her favorite mare to her favorite stallion. From the moment he was born, Giacomo knew nothing but love, companionship, and a life filled with everything a horse could ask for.

When he was old enough, his owner trained him under saddle, and the two became devoted dressage partners. As the years passed, Giacomo’s dressage days eventually came to an end, but he continued to enjoy leisurely pleasure rides with his favorite person.

In 2021, his owner came to Redwings looking for a best friend for Giacomo. She quickly fell in love with Miller and brought him home to join their family. It didn’t take long for Miller and Giacomo to become inseparable. They were deeply loved by their owner, and the three of them shared a special bond.

Sadly, life took an unexpected turn in 2026 when their owner became very sick. She was forced to sell the home she loved, but thankfully, she was able to keep her beloved horses together at a friend’s home.

When she passed away, her dying wish was that her horses would be safe and, most importantly, that they would remain together.

Redwings has always welcomed adopted horses back to the sanctuary, so Miller would always have a home with us. But when we heard about Giacomo and learned of his owner’s final wish, we knew we had to bring him home, too. We quickly agreed that Giacomo would return to Redwings alongside Miller.

Today, Miller and Giacomo are together, just as their owner wanted.

They will only be adopted as a pair. And if we never find the right home where they can remain together, they will always have a home here at Redwings where they will be safe, loved, and never separated.
