You can become a hero to any of nine Redwings equines by becoming their sponsor. By choosing one of these equines and a sponsorship level, you provide for their care for one year. In return, you receive a letter and photo from your sponsor equine, and more depending on the sponsorship level you choose as detailed below. Sponsorship make great gifts as well. Just give the contact information for the recipient on the sponsorhip application form, and all the materials except for the receipt will go to your gift recipient.
Basic Sponsorship: $50
You receive a letter from the horse that you choose, as well as a 4"x6" photo of the horse.
Bonus Sponsorship: $75
You receive a letter from the horse that you choose, as well as a 4"x6" photo of the horse and refrigerator magnet & keychain.
Deluxe Sponsorship: $100
You receive a letter from the horse that you choose, a 4"x6" photo, a refrigerator magnet, and a keychain all featuring a photo of the horse you have chosen. You also receive a Redwings T-shirt.
Geronimo's mother was a race horse who was injured, then pinfired to get her back to the track quickly. This was too much for her, so she was made pregnant and sold at auction, where Redwings bought her. She then gave birth to Geronimo.
Jenny's herd of burros was being rounded up and either sold or shot. Redwings and another organization rescued Jenny, her herd, and her new daughter, Sage.
Sammy was born in 1999 in a starved herd of wild mustangs. He was the victim of hoarding. Sammy is one of the most friendly mustangs and will be one of the first to approach you when you visit.
Little Bit's parents were rejects from the miniature horse show circuit. Someone adopted them as pets until an injury forced her to ask us to take them. Little Bit was born soon after.
Melissa's mother was kept pregnant, stalled, and catheterized to produce the drug, Premarin. At six months old, Melissa was auctioned with hundreds of other Premarin foals, and Redwings bought her to help teach people about Premarin.
Mirage's mother is a mustang who was rounded up and auctioned off. Her owner put her up for auction again a year later. In danger of winding up slaughtered, Redwings bought her, and found she was pregnant with Mirage.
Penelope's mother was in a feral herd whose condition was deteriorating quickly. They were finally rounded up and put up for auction soon after Penelope was born. Redwings and another organization rescued them from probable slaughter because of their wildness.
Takoda, unridable because of an accident that distorted his face and made him not fit a bridle, found himself ignored and neglected.
Topaz was being tripped by lasso for people's entertainment when a news reporter found her injured and starving and brought her to Redwings.
